Question

In Matthew 16:28, Jesus says that some of the people that are standing with him will not die before they see him coming in his kingdom. Has this happened?

Answer

In all three of the gospels, this promise is made right before the "Transfiguration," which occurred only six days after the promise.  The Greek word translated "kingdom" can also be translated "royal splendor" so the natural interpretation would be a reference to the Transfiguration.  The word "some" would be Peter, James, and John who were the only witnesses.
